I happened to get to know Hopes, Wishes and Dreams, the album by Ray Thomas, before this one which is its predecessor.I liked Hopes, Wishes and Dreams a lot, so listening to From Mighty Oaks for the first time was an 'is this as good as that' affair. Honestly speaking, I haven't always been sure. But what feels very certain now is that From Mighty Oaks, just like the follow-up, is a high.
